Net worth calculator / Net worth FAQ / How many millionaires
How many Americans have $1 million in liquid assets?
About 6 million. Henley & Partners’ USA Wealth Report 2025 counted approximately 6,041,000 Americans with $1 million or more in liquid investable wealth in 2024. The house doesn’t count.
Capgemini’s World Wealth Report 2026 uses a different rule: investable assets, leaving out the main home, collectibles, consumables and durables. It counted 8.7 million Americans at $1 million or more at the end of 2025.
Both are far below the counts that include home equity. UBS puts U.S. millionaires at 23.6 million adults, and about 21.5% of U.S. households had a net worth of $1 million or more in the Federal Reserve’s 2025 survey.
