Net worth calculator / About

I always wanted to know my net worth. And see it change.

Hi, I’m Garrett Pierson. For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted one number I could check anytime: what I own minus what I owe. Not once a year at tax time. I wanted to keep track of it daily and monthly, and know which account moved it.

So I’m building NetWorthCalculator.com.

Who I am

I’m a commercial real estate agent at Crest Realty in Ogden, Utah. I work on office, retail, industrial and land deals, and I own commercial property myself, so I’ve sat across the table from lenders, tenants and investors.

Before real estate, I spent 17 years building software companies. We grew Shopper Approved to more than 100 million reviews from over 10,000 businesses, and it made the Inc. 500 twice. I’ve also written four books, including The Trust Factor and Software Secrets.

Off the clock, I’m a husband to Lindsey, a dad to four, and a golfer.

Where StatementsReady fits

Nearly every commercial deal I’ve worked on came with the same request from the lender: a signed personal financial statement, on their form, by Friday. That meant logging in to a dozen accounts and copying balances into a spreadsheet late at night.

So in 2025 I built StatementsReady. It connects your accounts read-only through Plaid and fills in the lender’s form, including SBA Form 413.

A personal financial statement is a dated net worth with the details shown. Building it made me see that the same numbers answer a simpler question for everyone, not only borrowers: what am I worth today, and is it going up? NetWorthCalculator.com is the everyday version of that. The calculator is free now, and the tracker app is coming to web, iPhone and Android.

Already use StatementsReady Pro? Plus will be included with your plan, and you’ll sign in with the same account.

How we work

  • Your numbers stay yours

The calculator runs in your browser. Nothing you type into it is sent anywhere or saved.

  • Read-only bank connections

The app will connect banks through Plaid, the same way StatementsReady does. It reads balances, can’t move money, and never sees your bank password.

  • Prices on the page

Entering balances yourself will be free. Paid bank syncing is listed on the tracker page, with no sales call.

  • Questions go to a real inbox

Email support@networthcalculator.com with a question or an idea for the app.
